Plano Bounces East Out of Playoffs
Panthers lose to Plano 11-4 in season finale
The final game of the season was a big one for the Lady Panthers as they were looking to clinch a playoff berth for back-to-back seasons. Teams are constantly changing positions because of how competitive district 6-6A is.
Both teams were held scoreless through the first two innings until East generated a couple hits and got out to an early 3-0 lead. Then in the top half of the fifth inning, senior Amy Jensen had a solo homer to extend their lead over the first-place Wildcats, but it was a different story when they hit the field. Sophomore Carson Armijo struggled with command which lead to walks and the Wildcats getting their first run on the board. After a pitching change, freshman Lauren Trinh came in with bases loaded hanging on to a 4-3 lead, but Plano continued to create offense and put pressure on the defense taking their first lead of the game 8-4 after five. The Lady Panthers could not get anything going at the plate again and Plano tackle on threw more runs in the sixth. The final score was 11-4. After Allen defeated Wylie, Easts playoff chances were diminished.
