Baseball team swept by Allen
Friday night was a repeat of Tuesday night’s loss for the baseball team, as they were defeated 15-4. Overall, the team was outsourced 30-6 in the two games against the first-place Allen Eagles.
On Friday night, the Panthers fell behind early, as the Eagles scored five runs in the top half of the first inning. In the bottom half of the inning, junior Chase Cotton got the Panthers on the board with a two-run home run to deep left field.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third inning, in which junior Jonathan Mcnair drove in two runs with a single. The game remained close as the sixth inning began with the Panthers still trailing 6-4. In the top of the sixth, the Eagles could not be contained, as they scored nine runs to push the lead to 15-4.
After a scoreless bottom of the sixth, the game was called to run-rule. The Panthers now sit at 2-10 in district play with the final series of the season coming up this week.
