The National Football League (NFL) is officially underway. In the first week, all teams played hard, but in the end, half won and half lost. Some games were offensive battles, some defensive, and some were close while others got blown out.
To start the week on Thursday, there was a rematch of the American Football Conference (AFC) championship last year between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. Three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes and his blazing offense led the Chiefs. Leading the Ravens was two-time MVP winner Lamar Jackson. Both quarterbacks played hard out on the field. Mahomes scored one touchdown, threw one interception, and passed 291 yards. His passing touchdown was to rookie Xavier Worthy who played an astounding first game to start his career. Running back (RB) Isaiah Pacheco also brought in a touchdown for the Chiefs. On the Ravens’ side, Jackson had 273 passing yards and 122 running yards. To support him, tight end Isaiah Likely received for 111 yards and scored a touchdown. Ultimately, the Kansas City Chiefs won 27-20.
